The Royal Horses

In March 2006 we received a phone call from the Royal Stud at Hampton Court, interested in using Alice's Diamond Slipper.

They had used him previously, late April came and three mares arrived, two for Alice's Diamond Slipper and one for Barracaberry Orbit. All three went home in foal and in spring 2007 they saw the safe arrival of all three foals.

  • Horse - Favour

  • Age - Four

  • Owner - The Queen

  • Rider/producer - Kate Jerram

Favour is home bred as a carriage horse at Hampton Court, as is another new one, Lexington. Both will be campaigned in the showring for a couple of seasons before moving on to royal duties.

A bay mare by Alice's Diamond Slipper out of Harmony, Favour will contest the small hunter classes.

"She is a scaled down version of a middleweight, a proper small with lots of bone, fabulous movement and a lovely temperament" says Katie.

"We backed her at Christmas and she is riding away nicely. We hope to do a few novice and four year old classes with her and at the moment she is on track to come out at the BSHA Grass Roots Show [16th April]."

Read more about Favour by Alice's Diamond Slipper and Lexington by Barracaberry Orbit in the 28th April 2011 issue of Horse and Hound.
